Hot stock: NOK stock price plunged after WP8 phones launch

Hot stock to watch: Nokia (NOK) today released new generation Windows Phone 8 Smartphones, Lumia 920 and Lumia 820, but the new Lumia phones seem not to bring confidence to investors. NOK shares opened lower and plunged 15.90%, to close at $2.38 on a volume of 220 million shares versus its average daily volume of 56.93 million shares. Based on the latest NOK stock l price, the current market value of Nokia is $8.91 billion.

Nokia released two WP8 phones targeted high-end and mid-market, respectively, which also can be considered the successor products after Lumia 900 and Lumia 800. In addition to feature upgrades of Windows Phone 8, PureView camera technology, life navigation City Lens and wireless charging are the three highlights of the new Nokia phones.

Nokia said in the Windows Phone 8 conference that it has sold about 700 million units of Windows Phone devices so far, and sold 4 million units in the previous quarter.

NOK stock price has a 52-week range between $1.63 and $7.38. The current NOK stock price is slightly above the 50-day moving average of $2.34 while much lower than the 200-day moving average of $3.96.
