Waste Connections, Inc. (WCN) is an integrated solid waste services company that provides solid waste collection, transfer, disposal and recycling services in the United States. WCN shares rose sharply by more than 9% in the morning session after the company announced to buy R360 Environmental Solutions Inc, a private company which provides recovery and disposal services in the United States for about $1.3 billion. Waste Connections expects to increase EBITDA margin through the acquisition and to complete the deal in the fourth quarter.
Another acquisition beneficiary is IRIS International, Inc. (IRIS), a provider of vitro diagnostic systems (IVD) products analyzing the chemistry and morphology of cells and sediments in a variety of body fluids, stock price of the company surged more than 45% this morning on the back that equipment manufacturers Danaher Corp. (DHR) announced to buy the company for $340.9 million, or $19.50 per share, a premium of 45% compared to last Friday’s closing price of $13.42. DHR stock price edged up 0.31% in the early trading session.
Neuralstem, Inc. (CUR) is a biopharmaceutical company engaged in developing and commercializing of treatments for central nervous system disease based on transplanting human neural stem cells and small molecule drugs. The company announced to launch a public offering of 7 million shares of its common stock at a price of $1.00 per share, to fund its general corporate purposes. Aegis Capital Corp is acting as the sole book-runner for this deal. CUR stock price climbed more than 2% in the early trading session.
