Manchester United IPO: According to the latest regulatory filing submitted by Manchester United to the SEC, the football club operator has announced its IPO price ceiling of $20 per share. Including over-allotments, the maximum aggregate public offering price amounts to $383 million (half of the stock by the selling shareholders). The previously announced prospectus showed Manchester United’s proposed financing amount was approximately $100 million.
On the basis of an assumed price of $20, the ceiling of the announced Manchester United IPO price, Manchester United’s total market capitalization will be about $3.27 billion. In June 2005, Glazers and his family acquired for Manchester United about 800 million pounds and made the company private.
